Walk together as a family

One group holds everyone, whatever phone they use. Steps sync on their own; everyone sees everyone’s day.

Step 1 · whoever starts it

Create the family group

  1. Open the app (or the website) and sign in.
  2. Groups › Start a family group › name it “Family”.
  3. Tap Share link and send it on WhatsApp. The same link works for iPhone and Android.
Android · Samsung, OnePlus, Poco, Pixel

Install the app

  1. Download Vine & Stride for Android and open it. Allow installs from Chrome if asked.
  2. Open the family link, choose a name and passcode.
  3. Allow Health Connect (steps and distance only).
  4. Samsung: Samsung Health › Settings › Health Connect › allow Steps.
OnePlus, Poco, Xiaomi (Android 14+): the phone counts its own steps. Allow background activity (Poco: also Autostart). The app opens each setting for you.
iPhone

Join on the website, sync with a Shortcut

  1. Open the family link in Safari, choose a name and passcode. Share › Add to Home Screen to keep it like an app.
  2. Me › Connect your steps shows your personal sync key and a free Shortcut that sends Apple Health steps every evening.
  3. A native iPhone app is coming via TestFlight; it will sync in the background on its own.
Is it working?

Check the green dot

In the group, every walker shows “Last synced”. Green means fine; amber means that phone hasn’t sent steps for 3 hours — tap Send the fix to share their phone’s settings with them.

A browser can’t read a phone’s step counter, so the Android app or the iPhone Shortcut does the counting and the website shows everyone.
